Reduced Reporting of PPE required

Good Afternoon,

Please see below and attached, important updates relevant to Independent
Health Facilities regarding the Minister’s Order for PPE survey completion.

Thank you,

Independent Health Facilities Program

Please find attached an updated Minister’s Order and Direction on PPE Data
Collection and important updates pertaining to the COVID-19 Critical
Supplies and Equipment Survey.

*Updated Minister’s Order and Direction:*

– On March 27th, 2020, the Minister of Health issued an order under
subsection 77.7.1(1) of the *Health Protection and Promotion Act, 1990,*
requiring health service providers to report daily on PPE inventories
– Participation of health service providers in this important initiative
has enabled a robust infrastructure for:
– Up to date inventories and forecasted needs for supplies across the
province
– Centralized procurement of PPE in a globally constricted marketplace
– Proactive allocation and distribution of centrally purchased
critical supplies and equipment, particularly to vulnerable sectors and
populations
– Following up on the Ministry’s commitment to reduce data reporting
burdens and in support of the first stage of the government’s reopening
framework, *the Minister of Health is now issuing an updated order and
direction that allows for reduced frequency in reporting*
– The reduced reporting frequency does not impact current processes for
accessing PPE
– The updated Minister’s order and direction is attached and is
available on the MOH COVID-19 Website

– Instructions for participation are published on the Ontario Health
Website

*Reminder: Accessing Emergency PPE*

If health system organizations and providers have a supply shortage despite
their own procurement, stewardship and conservation efforts, we ask that
they do the following:

– Work with their regular supplier to determine when they will receive
their shipment of PPE
– Work with other local health care providers to determine if any in the
local area have supplies they can provide
– Submit a request via the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment
Intake Form
.
A Regional Table Lead will work to see if they can address the request
within the region. If the need cannot be addressed regionally, the
Regional Table Lead will escalate the request to the Ministry Emergency
Operations Centre.

*Changes to the CSE Survey:*

A few changes to the survey have been made as a result of the updated
Minister’s Order:

– Survey instructions have been modified to reflect the new reporting
frequency (you’ll continue to report in the same way, just less often)
– The list of CSE items you are required to report on has been updated
– New functionality has been added to save your data prior to submission
